Every Ukrainian Scientist may join ESP Free of charges in 2026

The Executive Committee of the European Society for Photobiology (ESP) has decided to waive the submission fee for 2026 to every scientist affiliated with an Ukrainian Institution and having a working address in Ukraine who would like to join the society.

Ukraine has a history of strong involvement in Photobiological research, with many important research groups having been located there throughout the years. Ukraine is a fundamental actor in European research and in the European community.

In taking this decision, ESP wants to reaffirm its attachment to the values of freedom, independence, democracy, and self-determination. ESP also wants to show support to the Ukrainian scientific community struggling to maintain a research activity even during aggression and resistance.

ESP also wants to reaffirm that the society is open to welcome Ukrainian scientists to their natural home in a European research society.
