Springer Nature to publish the journal

Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences (PPS)

The European Society for Photobiology (ESP) and the European Photochemistry Association (EPA) have signed a contract with Springer Nature for the publication of their journal PPS. Starting in 2021, the journal will be published for a five-year term by Springer Nature under the Springer imprint. PPS publishes around 250 articles per year and brings together research by scientists working on all topics involving the interaction of light with molecules, supramolecular systems or biological matter.

Steffen Pauly, Editorial Director Chemistry at Springer Nature said: “We look forward to publishing PPS and developing content and strategy of the journal in the next five years. By adding this comprehensive journal to our portfolio we are pleased to be able to offer our readers more high-quality content in the fields of photochemistry and photobiology.”

Franz Trautinger, President of the European Society for Photobiology (ESP) said: “We are enthusiastic about the bright future of PPS with this internationally leading and progressive publisher!” and Maurizio D’Auria, President of the European Photochemistry Association (EPA), added: “The EPA is delighted to embark on this exciting partnership with Springer Nature for the continued success of PPS. The new publishing agreement will bring new benefits for our members and add to the visibility of the journal.”
